We Have Crossed The Border

Yesterday we arrived at a campground west of Calgary with no problems.  Chris enjoyed a strip search at the border crossing ; ), somethings just never get old.  The weather these first days has been rainy.  We were forced to go to the Powderhorn Saloon to watch the Columbia/England World Cup game.  We stopped at the ranger station for some ideas of areas to hike.  John directed us to Forget Me Not pond.  As usual verbal directions don't work too well with us and the folded map on the floor wasn't much help.  We missed our turn and headed out a logging road for about 20 km (yep, that's right I'm going metric).   It was beautiful but way past where we needed to turn.  We've got nothing but time!  I did mention, that if we slid off the road we would probably never be found, always good to keep a positive frame of mind.  My Aunt lives in Calgary and we are meeting them to golf tomorrow.  The Calgary Stampede is also going on, which we have no idea what that is all about.  Our third crazy chicken (Hannah) has made her move to California, and will be flying to Calgary to jump in with us and to head to Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise and Alaska.  Also happy to report that Lauren is settled in her new apartment in Chicago and Matthew and Elli are doing great in San Diego.

We love watching World Cup!  It was us and 3 Brits in the saloon.  Day drinking sometimes is a necessity!
