Hair Pins To Mingus

After dropping Hannah in Flagstaff we reserved a campsite at Potato Patch Campground in the Prescott National Forest on Mingus Mountain.  Little did we know it required a climb to over 7,000 feet on a small road with many hair pin turns.  I drove separately in the tow car so Chris could climb the mountain easier.  Half way up the mountain we had to drive thru Jerome, which was a little town on the side of the mountain that was very tight as well.  We did a great hike here.  We have officially hit 7 weeks on the road and 4,000 miles on the RV.  We are still married and plan to continue on with this journey.  Lilly is doing much better riding in the RV, thanks to Xanax wrapped in cheese.  It's working well for me also.  While we were driving in to Prescott we witnessed the beginning of what ended up being a massive brush fire.  As we were passing the small brush fire on the side of the road the fire trucks were pulling up.  It ended up burning over 5,000 acres, some homes and some farms.  In one hour it traveled across a very large area of land and continued to burn into the evening.  We heard they flew in three DC10's with chemicals to dump on it.  I've never seen anything like that before.  Being so high on Mingus Mountain, our cell service was almost non-existent.  There was one spot near the campground where you could get one bar.  It was marked with a pile of rocks.  I was on a call, stepped over it and my call immediately dropped.
