Hannah Has Landed
We picked Hannah up in Phoenix and headed north to Page, AZ. We got here yesterday and got set up. We could only find a spot at an RV Park, which is our least favorite place to stay, but we will make it work. We are only staying here for two nights so that we will have air conditioning for the dog while we go to Antelope Canyon. I know that probably sounds ridiculous, but it is over 100 degrees here. Last night we hiked to Horseshoe Bend to watch the sunset. It is really crazy that you and many other people, who don't appear to be paying complete attention to their whereabouts, can go right up to the edge. People in Old Navy flip flops leaning over the 1,000+ foot drop... made Chris crazy. We now have officially identified Chris Klancic's first fear...heights with no railings. It was absolutely beautiful! We celebrated Cinco De Mayo last night so we are just relaxing this morning.

So we hike to Horseshoe Bend and I'm experiencing high anxiety based on what Pam describes above... fear of watching people wander too close to the edge of these massive drops and no railings... and what does my daughter do, wanders right up to the edge and sits down, Pam turned it into a photo opp and it is a great picture.
ReplyDeleteI can actually see your face in my head watching people walk up to the edge. Makes me anxious too. Such amazing photos. The one with Hannah looks like a Patagonia ad.
DeleteThat is a great photo op... but I'm with you. I would be beyond anxious. Love that Hannah was able to join you!
ReplyDeleteR u guys going to the Grand Canyon?
ReplyDeleteThese great photos kinda look like the mini Grand Canyon to me.
What an adventure u r on....
Come on you gotta post every 3 days min.
Please?
We are currently in Page, AZ which is along the Utah/AZ border. We will be going to the north rim of the Grand Canyon on the 15th when it opens. We are camping on Lake Powell tonight and then headed towards Flagstaff for a couple of days. Loving that you are traveling along with us!
DeleteWow! Absolutely stunning. Adding this to my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteThere is a spot you can camp right beside Lake Powell for free. You guys should do a couple of days up in this area. Maybe put some camping equipment on your wedding registry??
DeleteLove that idea!!
DeleteSo my "crowd at the cliff side" anxiety was not unfounded... we visited Horseshoe Bend on Saturday and found out when we were at Lake Powell earlier this week that someone fell off on Sunday. As they used to say on Hill Street Blues... "be careful out there"
